| Waimano Ridge, formerly known as Waimano Home, was first established in 1921 as a hospital for those with mental illness. In 1995, the purpose of this complex changed to community-focused treatment. After being reviewed by the State Historic Preservation Division and architects, the building was demolished in 2005 to build a safer, updated facility. The Department of Health is planning on converting this 242 acre space into the new Department of Health headquarters. The project is expected to finish in 2017. Notkin Hawaii Inc. is working on the air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing for this facility. We are also providing LEED certification services in hopes of Waimano Ridge becoming a green building. |
